PNCB Certificant and Candidate Code of Ethics

To support excellence in nursing practice, the PNCB assumes that every nurse certified by this organization or desiring certification will uphold and adhere to its Code of Ethics

 

PNCB Disciplinary Policy

Filing a Complaint with the PNCB

All PNCB certificants are to abide by the PNCB Code of Ethics above. Members of the public or health care providers who believe that a PNCB certificant has violated this code may file a complaint with the PNCB

 

Non-Discrimination Policy

All programs of the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB) shall be administered without discrimination on the basis of age, sex, color, creed, disability, gender identity, health status, lifestyle, nationality, ethnicity, race, religion, marital status, sexual orientation, national origin, citizenship, status as a Vietnam era or special disabled veteran, or other statutory or otherwise legally protected category. This program shall apply to all aspects of the Certification Program, including but not limited to its dealings with volunteers, employees, and applicants. PNCB will make reasonable accommodations for the known disability of qualified individuals unless undue hardship to PNCB would result and such accommodation would not be required by law. This policy also prohibits unlawful discrimination or discriminatory conduct by any certification program volunteer or staff member. PDF Version of Policy.

Trademarked Credentials and Right to Use Trademarks

The marks CPNP-AC®, CPNP-PC®, PMHS®, and CPN® have been registered in the United States Patent and Trademark Office to the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board, Inc.

For individual pediatric nursing professionals, certification is an important credential that attests to the achievement of specialty knowledge beyond basic nursing preparation. Persons using the CPNP-AC®, CPNP-PC®, PMHS®, and CPN® credential meet standards and tests of competency, skill, and knowledge established by the PNCB. When listing your credential, however, you should not include the registration (®) mark.

CPNP-AC®, CPNP-PC®, PMHS®, and CPN® are registered trademarks of the PNCB and may only be used by those certified by this Board. Certificates and recertification renewal cards will differentiate between CPNP-PC® (Primary Care) or CPNP-AC® (Acute Care).

Social Media Policy

To foster a positive, responsible, and respectful experience for all users, PNCB’s Social Media User Guidelines define the protocols for participating in the organization’s social media sites. Users of PNCB's social media platforms agree to abide by the Guidelines.
