Your CPNP-PC Exam Appointment

Ready to schedule your exam? Need to change your current appointment, extend your 90-day testing window, or withdraw/cancel? You're in the right place!

You must schedule your exam and test during the 90-day testing window assigned by PNCB. This window starts the day your complete application is approved. You are notified promptly by eligibility email notification when the window starts.

DON'T FORFEIT YOUR FEES!

If you do not schedule and test in this timeframe, you forfeit fees. It's your responsibility to understand all exam policies, procedures, and requirements. This includes required IDs, lateness, and no-show.

WHERE AND WHEN YOU TEST

The exam is delivered by computer at 300+ Prometric Testing Centers throughout the U.S. by appointment only. Canadian PNP program graduates can test in Canada. Contact exam@pncb.org for more information.

PNCB assigns you a 90-day testing window in which to test. Schedule your appointment soon after you receive your window, even if you plan to test toward the end of the 90 days. Seats can fill up, and appointments are first-come, first-served.

Typical center hours are Monday - Friday 8 AM - 5 PM and Saturdays 8 AM - 1 PM. Available times show when scheduling on Prometric's website. Exams may not be offered on major holidays.

Find a test center near you, even before you apply, including a map. Learn about the test center experience with a check-in slideshow or optional Prometric Test Drive. PNCB does not require biometric check-in.

1. Receive Approval & Scheduling Notification from PNCB

  • Watch for this important email and postcard from PNCB within 2 weeks of approval of your complete application. You are assigned a 90-day testing window. You must schedule your exam and test within this timeframe.
  • Check your application status regularly. If you do not receive your notification, check spam then log in to your portal for a copy under Message Report. Once you receive it, you are ready to make your exam appointment with Prometric.

2. Make Your Appointment with Prometric

  • Have your calendar handy and visit Prometric's website to select a date and time, then schedule your exam. If you are requesting special accommodations, you must schedule by phone by calling Prometric at 1-800-967-1139. Don't delay. Waiting to schedule may impact availability of desired date.

3. Confirm You Have Acceptable ID

  • Don't forfeit your fees! To enter a Prometric Testing Center for your exam, you must present two forms of ID, one with a current photograph. All documentation must be in your legal name. You can opt to use 2 primary forms of identification instead of 1 primary and 1 secondary. Compare the forms of identification you plan to take to the test center with PNCB's ID requirements. Do you have the right ID? Has your name changed? Are ID dates expired?

You can make changes by logging in at Prometric's website or by phone with Prometric Candidate Services at 1-800-688-5804 during normal hours of operation.

Candidates who reschedule by phone must make and confirm all changes through direct contact with Prometric. Leaving a voice mail message is not acceptable for appointment changes.

Prometric fees may apply depending on where you are in your 90-day testing window. Refer to the schedule below for guidance.

Unable to test during your assigned window? Consider requesting an extension.

  • The extension fee is not refundable under any circumstances.
  • No Pass, No Pay candidates are unable to request extensions because doing so may move a testing window beyond their employer's agreement period.
  • You may only extend one time per application.
  • The new 90-day testing window begins once your application for an extension is processed. It does not grant you 180 days to take the exam.

To request an extension, complete each of these steps:

  1. Check dates: Candidates must complete the extension application 5 full business days before the end of your initial 90-day testing period. The extension can only be made if your testing period has not expired. Check my 90-day window
  2. Cancel existing appointment with Prometric: If you have already scheduled a testing date and time, it is your responsibility to cancel your appointment with Prometric per their cancellation schedule - 5 full business days before scheduled exam - or you will forfeit all fees. See the Prometric fee chart below. Contact Prometric to cancel.
  3. Confirm Prometric cancellation with PNCB: Email exam@pncb.org to let us know you have cancelled with Prometric.
  4. Order extension: Contact PNCB at 1-888-641-2767 or exam@pncb.org so PNCB can process your request, then notify you of your newly assigned 90-day testing period, which begins on the day PNCB processes your extension order. You may then schedule your new testing appointment with Prometric.

You can cancel/withdraw by logging in at Prometric's website or by phone with Prometric Candidate Services at 1-800-688-5804 during normal hours of operation.

Candidates who cancel/withdraw by phone must make and confirm all changes through direct contact with Prometric. Leaving a voice mail message is not acceptable for cancellation/withdrawal.

Prometric fees may apply depending on where you are in your 90-day testing window. Refer to the schedule below for guidance.

  1. Cancel any testing appointment with Prometric by visiting their website or call them at 1-800-688-5804 no less than 16 days before your scheduled test date.
  2. Email a withdrawal request to exam@pncb.org. Your request must be received at PNCB 16 business days before expiration of your assigned 90-day testing window in order to receive a refund of the examination fee only ($130 registration fee non-refundable).

Withdrawal requests received following expiration of a 90-day testing period will not be honored, and no fees will be refunded. To test in the future, the candidate must reapply and pay all fees.
