PNCB Unveils New Executive Committee During 50th Anniversary Year
Rockville, MD – [July 11, 2025] – As the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB) celebrates its 50th anniversary of advancing pediatric nursing excellence, we are pleased to announce the incoming Executive Committee of the Board of Directors. This distinguished group of leaders will guide the organization's strategic direction with a shared commitment to advancing pediatric health.
Scott Meskimen, MSN, CPNP-PC, PMHS
Chair
Scott Meskimen brings a rich blend of clinical and leadership experience to his new role as Chair of the Board. A pediatric nurse practitioner in private primary care practice, Meskimen entered the nursing profession following a successful career in retail. He earned his associate degree in nursing and later completed his BSN at the University of Iowa. He began his clinical career as a staff nurse in General Pediatrics and the Pediatric ICU at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital. Meskimen went on to earn a Master of Nursing from the University of Illinois at Chicago and obtained certification as a Pediatric Primary Care Mental Health Specialist (PMHS), driven by a passion to improve access to pediatric mental health services. He is deeply committed to making a meaningful impact on the lives of children and families through high-quality, compassionate care.
Sandra Jones, DNP, APRN, CPNP-PC
Secretary
Dr. Sandra Jones brings over 30 years of clinical and research experience in pediatric and adolescent HIV/AIDS and pediatric oncology to her role as Secretary of the Board. Her career has been dedicated to caring for children, adolescents, and young adults living with HIV and those diagnosed with cancer. She has participated in the implementation of numerous multi-network clinical research trials that have contributed to the approval of HIV treatment regimens and improved cure rates for pediatric cancers. A passionate advocate for adolescent-to-adult healthcare transition, Dr. Jones has disseminated quality improvement initiatives through publication and numerous conferences. She served on international and local community advisory boards to advise investigators and promote education, advocacy, and empowerment in HIV care. Her enduring commitment to mentoring and education has played a key role in shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals.
Jamie Wiggins, PhD, MBA, RN, CPN, NEA-BC, FACHE, FAAN
Treasurer
Dr. Jamie Wiggins brings over 17 years of nursing leadership experience to his role as Treasurer of the Board. He has held senior executive roles in pediatric healthcare, including positions as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Nursing Officer. Dr. Wiggins holds advanced credentials, including the Nurse Executive Advanced Certification (NEA-BC), Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE), and Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing (FAAN). He earned his Master of Science in Nursing and Health Systems Leadership from the University of California, San Francisco, MBA from Nicholls State University, and PhD from the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center at New Orleans.
