Live Webinar: Screening & Assessment of Suicidal Thoughts & Behaviors in Children & Adolescents

Registration for this webinar is now closed.

With youth mental health in a state of crisis, do you have a consistent, evidence-based approach to screening pediatric patients for suicidal thoughts and behaviors? If a patient’s risk for suicide surfaces during their visit, are you ready to provide the latest evidence-based interventions?
Pediatric-focused practitioners are increasingly being called upon to respond to children and adolescents in their practice setting who are struggling with suicidal thoughts and behaviors. Join us on Thursday, September 28, at 2:00pm ET for this expert-led Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB) webinar that focuses on the evidence-based response including prevention strategies, evidence-based suicide screening, assessment, and intervention (Patient Safety Plan) for children and adolescents during routine visits.
Pamela Lusk, DNP, PMHNP-BC, FAANP, FAAN will be your guide to navigating this timely critical topic. Attendees earn 1 contact hour accredited by the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP). The cost is $40. Spots for this live event are limited.

Learning objectives for this webinar include:

  1. Describe the prevalence, inequities, risk, and protective factors for suicidal ideation and behavior in children and adolescents.
  2. Describe the AAP / AFSP (American Academy of Pediatrics / American Foundation for Suicide Prevention) 2022 Blueprint for Youth Suicide Prevention guidelines for universal screening for suicide risk in youths 12 years and older
  3. Describe the steps of using validated evidence-based screening tools, follow-on assessments, and interventions based on the patient’s level of suicide risk.
  4. Identify toolkits and resources that increase suicide prevention readiness and safety planning in your daily practice with children and adolescents.
