The PNCB's Primary Care Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner certification exam outline reflects the completed 2007-2008 Primary Care PNP Exam Role Delineation research that describes the role responsibilities and clinical activities of Primary Care PNPs throughout the United States.

Content for the updated exam has not changed considerably. Some questions within the exam have been reorganized within different categories. For example, questions relating to professional role previously appeared throughout the exam; these questions now comprise their own category.
