PNCB's No Pass, No Pay Program

NEW! Our No Pass, No Pay Program received a 2011 Summit Award, the highest national honor for contributions to society and innovation from the American Society of Association Executives. Read the press release>>

Over 95% of all pediatric nurses who certify choose the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB) because we've been leading the way in pediatric nursing board certification since 1977. Our new "No Pass, No Pay" Program benefits you, your nurses and ultimately your patients. Here's why:

We don't charge hospitals or nurses for unsuccessful exams.

No Pass, No Pay hospitals and their nurses benefit from something that's never been done before… If an RN does not pass our Certified Pediatric Nurse (CPN®) exam, neither the nurse nor the hospital is charged the exam fee. Unsuccessful RNs can test a second time under No Pass, No Pay. Learn More>> See a sample agreement>>

Our exam represents the highest standard.

Our CPN® exam is nationally acclaimed and designed to validate knowledge and expertise in pediatric nursing. Our role delineation research ensures that our exams reflect current practice. Over 2,800 pediatric nurses participated in our 2008 study. Exam questions are written and reviewed by pediatric nurses who are subject matter experts.

CPNs report increased confidence in their decision-making skills and an improved ability to detect early signs and symptoms of clinical complications. CPNs on staff assure the public that your hospital provides the best possible care to children and families. Learn More>>

We provide feedback you can use.

The PNCB gives each No Pass, No Pay hospital a detailed annual aggregate score report profiling the exam content performance of all candidates testing. This important information helps you target continuing education learning needs for your staff.

We offer more than the CPN® exam.

We can package current and future CE opportunities with the CPN® exam to fit your hospital's needs. Our CPN Exam Prep, an online practice test worth 5 contact hours, can be beneficial to your nurses even if you offer a review course. We also offer Test-Taking Strategies for CE.

We know pediatrics.

The PNCB is governed by a multidisciplinary board made up of pediatric nurses, PNPs, and pediatricians. Our respected certification exams and recertification programs are endorsed by the American Academy of Pediatrics, the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners, and the Society of Pediatric Nurses.
