Program Statistics

Did you know that there are currently 115 PNCB recognized PNP Programs? Of those, 102 are Primary Care programs and 13 are Acute Care. Congratulations to Vanderbilt University for having the highest number of students testing for the CPNP-PC® Exam in 2006, and to the University of Pennsylvania for the most students taking the CPNP-AC®.

Current Passing Rates

Since 2004, the overall passing rate for the Acute Care CPNP® Exam is 78%. The five-year cumulative passing rate for the Primary Care CPNP® Exam is also 78%.

DNP Survey

The PNCB will soon be sending out a survey by email to explore emerging issues in PNP education including the Doctorate of Nursing Practice degree and development of Acute Care PNP programs. We hope that you will participate and help us identify current and future trends in PNP education. Look for an email from us soon.

Updated Score Reports

An up-to-date report for your school is available at any time by contacting Debra Russell at admin@pncb.org. We hope you take advantage of this convenient way to monitor the overall performance of your school's graduates.

Pamphlets and Posters

If you'd like copies of our new Primary Care CPNP® pamphlets to share with your students, please email us with quantities needed. We also offer a poster suitable for holding pamphlets. Acute Care CPNP® pamphlets will be available this summer.

PEDs Exam Prep & Study Bundles

Launched in late 2006, our PEDs Exam Prep is a unique way for graduating PNP students to become familiar with the presentation and structure of CPNP® Exam questions. This popular web-based learning activity offers continuing education hours and reviews content related to pediatric Health Restoration and/or Health Promotion.

Students can enroll for the Health Promotion module and answer 50 questions related to pediatric growth and development and other areas of pediatric health maintenance. The Health Restoration module contains 50 questions related to managing chronic and minor acute pediatric illness.

We hope you encourage all your PNP students to access this new online simulation of the CPNP® Exam. Acute Care PNP students may benefit from the Health Promotion module. FNP students who want exposure to pediatric content can benefit from both modules. For more details, click here.

Also now available is our current SAEs for Study Bundle, which offers students the 2007 and 2006 editions of our acclaimed Primary Care Self-Assessment Exercise (SAE) at a substantial discount. The SAEs for Study Bundle includes:

• The 2007 Primary Care SAE
• The 2006 Primary Care SAE

Each Primary Care SAE includes a reference manual filled with articles from the best pediatric journals in the field, 100 multiple-choice questions referenced from these articles, and an answer booklet of detailed explanations of all right and wrong answers. The Primary Care SAEs offer advanced, current PNP practice information.

The cost for this Study Bundle is $225 and includes the 2005 Primary Care SAE and over 100 Pharmacology SAE items plus an answer booklet while supplies last. Click here for more details. Shipping and handling is included in this cost.
