We Have a New Name!
October, 2004
The National Certification
Board of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Nurses, Inc. (NCBPNP/N) will
now be known as the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board, Inc. (PNCB).
The year 2004 marked
the 29th year since the initial establishment of our certification board
and the development of our nationally acclaimed certification programs
for Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (CPNPs®) and Certified
Pediatric Nurses (CPNs®). Recently the quality of our certification
programs has become internationally recognized. In Canada, our Certified
Pediatric Nurse Exam has been endorsed by the Canadian Nurses Association
and is now recognized as the official certification exam for Canadian
pediatric nurses. Today more than 5500 nurses in the US and Canada have
achieved this special recognition. In 2004, our Board will launch a new
certification program for Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioners. This
new certification program will provide certification opportunities for
advanced practice nurses with specialized critical and acute care knowledge
and skills.
We believe our new
name, the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB), reflects the growth
of our programs and best represents our mission "
to create
the highest quality certification programs for pediatric nurse professionals".
