Important Dates for the
Self-Assessment Exercise (SAE)

The deadline for 2010 Recertification Enrollment is February 1, 2010.

October 2009: Emails sent to those choosing Online Options

• Beginning October 15th, individuals ordering online answering for SAEs will receive their access email. Be sure to check your spam or junk inbox for this automatically generated email.

November 2009: Shipments Begin

• Shipping of Printed Materials: Following receipt and successful processing of 2010 Recertification enrollment, Self-Assessment Exercises (Primary Care, Peds Pharm and Pediatric Nursing) are mailed beginning November 2009. Allow 3-4 weeks for processing and shipment of your SAE. The SAE will be shipped from the PNCB to street addresses in the US via UPS (United Parcel Service). Shipment to US post office boxes (P.O. Box), APO/FPO or Canadian addresses will be via the USPS (United States Postal Service) Priority Mail. Additional shipping fees are required for shipment of the SAE to a foreign/overseas address. Contact the PNCB to arrange for payment for shipment to a foreign/overseas address. Checks and money orders must be US currency and US banks only.

Scoring

• Scoring for the online answer method is immediate once you submit your answers online for final scoring.
• Scoring for the paper answer sheet method will be sent to you approximately 4 weeks after we receive your answer sheet.

May 15, 2010: SAE Completion Deadline (posted)

• Deadline for return of SAE paper answer sheet to the PNCB office. Failure to return your answer sheet may jeopardize your certification status with PNCB.
• Deadline for completing your SAE answers (11:59 PM EST) if using the online method. Failure to complete your answers may jeopardize your certification status with PNCB.

May 16 - June 15, 2010: Late SAE Completion

• Late SAE answer sheet return period. SAE answer sheets postmarked during this period will be accepted along with a $50 late fee. Extended access for the online answer method during this period will be available with a $50 late fee by using this link. Extended access information will be emailed to participants.

August 2010 - Retest Completion Due Date

• Those who fail to achieve a passing SAE score (70%) on first scoring will be given an additional opportunity to retest with questions related to the current SAE. Detailed information will be provided to those who need to retest.
