The PNCB Wall of Distinction

Showcase the dedication of your CPNs® and CPNPs® with our free poster!

Creating a PNCB Wall of Distinction tells your nurses that you value their commitment to certification and explains this important professional milestone to the public. Once framed, our elegant poster highlights the certification achievement of your nurses and serves as the focal point of your Wall of Distinction, which can be surrounded by photos of your PNCB-certified nurses or their individual wall certificates. View a PDF of this 18" x 24" poster >>

To create your Wall, please email info@pncb.org for a free poster (or several if you have multiple pediatric units). If you'd like to create a plaque for your nurses, we can send you logo art files and text to create your own.

After your Wall of Distinction is up, we encourage you to share photos of your Wall, your nurses, or a short article for posting on the web, just like the following hospitals have done:

Children's Healthcare of Atlanta

Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Sibley Heart Center has created an amazing Wall of Distinction to recognize their PNCB certified staff. According to Audrey Beckman, BSN, RN, CPN, Administrative Resource Nurse:

"Our nurses really go above and beyond in providing comprehensive care to the pediatric cardiac population. They take care of the most critically ill children and perform remarkably. They are constantly pushing themselves to learn new things and are not afraid of the unknown. For instance, we trained some nurses and were able to take care of a patient with a Berlin heart on the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Cardiac Step-down Unit within the last year or so. We are so proud of our staff and of the compassionate, extraordinary care they provide. This wall gives us a chance to recognize those who have taken the knowledge they have acquired and continue to acquire and then have chosen to obtain their CPN certification. We want them to be proud of their accomplishment! We also want to showcase to our parents and families that they have the "best of the best" nurses taking care of their child. They can be confident that our staff is going to provide care that is beyond their expectations!"

Torrance Memorial Medical Center

"We are a community hospital in Torrance California with a general pediatric medical surgical floor that is licensed for 20 beds," shares Lisa Palm, RN, BSN, CPN. "We serve the needs of the community on a pediatric medical surgical level, and our hospital has met their goal house-wide to get nurses certified. We are continuing with the goal of having 100% of our pediatric nurses on the floor get pediatric certified. There are a total of 27 pediatric nurses, and 3 of us are certified so far. We have 6 nurses who are forming a study group to take the exam."

Lisa adds, "Our employer goes the extra mile by paying for the cost of the exam up front, we received gifts on Certified Nurses Day, and certification is one of our goals as we just applied for Magnet status."

Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center

To celebrate a 100% On-site Exam pass rate in her unit at AIMMC, Professional Practice Leader Loida Monteclaro, RN, BSN, CPN thought a Wall of Distinction would be a wonderful way to recognize her colleagues. Ms. Monteclaro personalized each new CPN's certificate by attaching their photos, then framed them along with the Wall of Distinction. Loida notes, "This wall has become famous to all departments!"

Their hospital also honored them with a party and recognition during National Nurses Week. Ms. Monteclaro adds, "We are so proud of what we have accomplished. Because of this, other nurses from other units of the hospital are inspired to get their certification." Congratulations to each of you, and special thanks to Ms. Monteclaro for recognizing her colleagues with their Wall!

With over 400 PNCB-certified nurses, Children's Mercy Hospitals and Clinics of Kansas City, Missouri has a lot to be proud of! Children's Mercy Hospital participates in PNCB's Pass, No Pay program and offers increased compensation for those who earn certification. Many thanks to Angie Williams, RN, BSN, CPN, who serves as the Nurse Manager for Children's Mercy Hospital's Burn Unit, for sharing her facility's Walls with us! Here is one unit's Wall and two CPN® group shots:
